Supervisor Security

Job Title: Supervisor, Security Responsibilities Coordinate with other Security Shift Controllers or Coordinators to ensure effective implementation of the integrated security plan. Plan and maintain the duty shift roster for security personnel to ensure effective coverage of the facility and its premises. Monitor shift activities and investigate any security incidents, reported incidents, complaints or other problems during the shifts. Ensure all security personnel on the shift are familiar with the security plan, standard operating procedures, emergency response procedures and all other relevant policies and procedures. Ensure staff are trained to operate security systems and equipment such as alarm systems, CCTV and communication systems. Supervise and monitor work carried out by assigned security personnel, ensuring effective access control and surveillance of the facility and the premises. Ensure the execution of security procedures and work orders. Plan and manage the security personnel work schedules to ensure adequate coverage during assigned shifts. Monitor effective shift hand-over, ensuring that all activities and any special problems or incidents during the shift are logged and reported, including the condition of various security equipment and surveillance systems. Assign security personnel to security points and schedule security patrol duties. Monitor access control and security checks for people and vehicles at all gates, including the checking of identity cards, vehicle access permits, briefcases and vehicles to ensure that all staff, visitors and contractors entering and leaving the premises are in possession of appropriate passes. Perform security inspections, audits and surveys as assigned by the Industrial Security Superintendent or Security Manager. Oversee and participate in security patrols, surveillance, and search activities covering the tour of facilities. Monitor patrol security checks, identify, investigate and report unexplained objects and potential or actual safety hazards, and take appropriate actions per security procedures. Conduct random checks to ensure effectiveness of security controls. Take necessary actions to control security incidents occurring during the shift in accordance with the Security Plan and Emergency Response Plan. Respond promptly to alarm signals, obtain full information from the security personnel, Fire Warden or Security Control Room operator about incidents, and investigate. Inform the Industrial Security Superintendent or Security Manager in the event of any incidents. Prepare and submit the full report for review. Organize and participate in the personal escort of High-Risk material, VIP staff and visitors as required. Supervise vehicle parking areas to ensure compliance with premises traffic rules. Regulate and control the flow of traffic and speed limit for all vehicles within the premises. Monitor registration numbers of illegally parked vehicles as reported by security personnel and take action. Respond to security and emergency cases. Investigate and participate in emergency response procedures as determined by the Emergency Response Plan. Provide support to external ER staff. Ensure security personnel wear company uniforms and appear neat and tidy. Monitor and maintain the physical and working condition of security equipment including barriers, lighting, alarms systems, CCTV and communications systems. Report any deficiencies to the Industrial Security Superintendent or Security Manager for action. Train security personnel on security procedures, work orders and emergency response procedures. Provide on-the-job and post-training guidance to security personnel. Provide recommendations to Shift Controllers or Coordinators to improve security measures, systems and procedures. Brief security personnel on changes in policies, procedures and regulations or any temporary security measures. Ensure that security personnel keep records of all visitors, vehicles and materials entering and exiting the premises, record security activities and incidents, and ensure smooth handover of duties to the next Security Shift Controller or Coordinator. Ensure the effective administration of all personnel matters including leave, rotation leave and emergency contact information of security personnel. Monitor and supervise the performance of assigned security personnel. Participate in annual performance appraisals. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (4 yrs) in any relevant discipline and 5 years of relevant security experience. Verbal and written communication in English must be at an advanced or at least medium level. Qualified and skilled in MS Office applications. Experience Minimum of 5 or 15 years (depending on the level of education as stated above) of security experience in an industrial environment. Experience at the supervisor level; previous military or law enforcement experience is an advantage.
