Junior Health & Safety Officer The Junior Health & Safety Officer is responsible for implementing, managing, and continuously improving Health & Safety systems and compliance across all sites within the cluster. The role ensures adherence to applicable legislation and internal standards through regular inspections, risk assessments, and effective monitoring of safe work practices.

The candidate will report to the Health & Safety Lead.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDES BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Conduct and oversee Health & Safety inspections across all sites within the cluster Ensure compliance with applicable Health & Safety legislation and internal standards Facilitate and review risk assessments and safe work procedures Manage and investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, including root cause analysis. Track, monitor, and ensure closure of corrective and preventative actions. Maintain accurate and up-to-date Health & Safety records and legal registers. Coordinate and support internal and external audits. Drive safety training, inductions, and awareness initiatives. Monitor PPE compliance and safe working practices. Support emergency preparedness (fire drills, evacuation plans, first aid readiness) Engage with management and staff to promote a strong safety culture Compile and present monthly OHS reports and performance metrics

Qualifications and skills:

Grade 12 (Matric) Diploma / Degree in Safety Management or relevant qualification SAMTRAC (Advantage) Registration with SACPCMP, SAIOSH, or CISA (Advantage) Driver’s license
