Our client is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Head of Cleaning and Sanitation Services to manage and elevate their hygiene standards across all facilities in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, ZA . This critical leadership position demands a proactive approach to maintaining impeccable cleanliness, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and leading a skilled team of cleaning professionals. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of commercial cleaning methodologies, advanced sanitation techniques, and effective team management. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and enforce stringent cleaning and sanitation protocols and procedures across all operational sites. Oversee the daily operations of the cleaning department, ensuring efficient resource allocation and task management. Manage, train, and motivate a team of cleaning staff, setting clear expectations and providing ongoing performance feedback. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality of work, identify areas for improvement, and ensure adherence to health and safety standards. Source, manage, and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and machinery, ensuring cost-effectiveness and optimal usage. Develop and manage the departmental budget, identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality. Ensure compliance with all local, regional, and national health, safety, and environmental regulations. Investigate and resolve any cleaning or sanitation-related complaints or issues promptly and professionally. Implement and champion innovative cleaning technologies and sustainable practices. Liaise with external contractors and suppliers as needed, evaluating their performance and ensuring service level agreements are met. Develop comprehensive training programs for staff on proper cleaning techniques, chemical usage, and safety procedures. Prepare regular reports on departmental performance, including cleaning schedules, staff productivity, supply usage, and any incidents. Qualifications: A relevant diploma or certification in Hospitality Management, Environmental Health, Facilities Management, or a related field. A minimum of 8 years of experience in cleaning and sanitation management, with at least 4 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Demonstrated expertise in advanced cleaning techniques, disinfection, and infection control principles. Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to cleaning services. Excellent leadership, team management, and motivational skills. Proficiency in budget management and resource allocation. Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with staff, management, and external stakeholders. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel between sites as required.
