Our client, a leading construction and development firm, is looking for an experienced Lead Project Manager to oversee significant infrastructure projects in Polokwane, Limpopo, ZA . This role is critical to the successful planning, execution, and completion of complex projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Lead Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of project management, including scope definition, resource allocation, risk management, stakeholder communication, and contract administration. You will lead and mentor a team of project coordinators and site engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Key responsibilities include developing detailed project plans, establishing project milestones, and tracking progress against key performance indicators (KPIs). You will manage relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, ensuring clear and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle. A significant part of the role involves proactive risk identification and mitigation strategies to address potential challenges and minimize project disruptions. Financial oversight, including budget forecasting, cost control, and reporting, is also a core function. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, coupled with a PMP or Prince2 certification. A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity on large-scale infrastructure projects, is required. Proven experience in managing budgets exceeding R50 million and leading multidisciplinary teams is essential. Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are a must. Excellent understanding of construction methodologies, building codes, and safety regulations is paramount. Proficiency in project management software such as MS Project or Primavera is required. This is a site-based role requiring full commitment to the project location.
