Expert Review

Getting into XPO's Truck Driver Student program means being ready for a serious commitment. You'll need to be at least 21 and hold a valid driver's license for 12 months. A key requirement is obtaining a CDL-A permit by your first day of class, along with specific endorsements within 90 days of employment.

The program offers a starting pay of $23.43/hour, which is competitive for entry-level driving jobs. You'll also benefit from comprehensive health insurance, life and disability coverage from day one, and a chance to earn up to 13 days of PTO in your first year. This makes it quite attractive compared to many other entry-level positions.

However, keep in mind the job's physical demands and the need to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends. It's not the right fit for everyone, especially those who might struggle with the physical or regulatory aspects. Overall, we found this program offers a solid pathway into a stable trucking career, especially for those who can meet its challenging entry requirements.
