Role Summary:
As a Retail Service Clerk, you are the final point of contact for our customers. Your goal is to provide a seamless, friendly, and efficient checkout experience that encourages shoppers to return. You will handle transactions, manage various payment types, and uphold Kroger core values of respect, honesty, and integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Enhancing Customer Support: Greet and assist customers promptly to ensure they feel welcomed and valued during their time in the store.Rapidly and accurately process customer transactions through the Point of Sale (POS) system to facilitate smooth transactions.Ensure financial accuracy by dealing with multiple forms of payment, such as cash, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, and complex loyalty vouchers in accordance with company regulations.Ensure strict compliance with legal requirements and safety regulations for the sale of restricted items such as Alcohol, Tobacco, and DVDs.Operational Excellence encompasses the responsibility of reporting pricing inconsistencies, staying informed about seasonal advertisements and specials, and adhering to protocols for the proper handling of gift cards and postage stamps.Maintenance: Follow a preventive maintenance schedule for checkout machinery and report any repairs required to management.Conflict Resolution: Dealing with high-intensity or fast-evolving scenarios in a composed and collaborative manner.Qualifications & Requirements:
Proven expertise in a service-oriented setting.Communication: Outstanding verbal proficiency needed to connect with a diverse clientele, including seniors and individuals requiring specialized assistance.Demonstrates mastery in basic mathematical skills, including counting, addition, and subtraction, crucial for accurate cash handling.Integrity represents a steadfast adherence to honesty and transparency in managing customer information and confidential business data.Upholding food safety regulations and legal obligations is vital.Preferred Experience:

Education: No formal education required.Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to interact with customers, including minors and seniors.Basic Math: Proficiency in counting, addition, and subtraction for inventory and pricing tasks.Integrity: Ability to handle business and customer information with total honesty.Preferred Experience:
