Status: Seasonal (Summer) Reports To: Director of Program Administration Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm Dates: May 26th through July 31st Position Overview Operation Breakthrough is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Financial Literacy Facilitator to lead a 10-week summer learning experience for teens. This role will focus on equipping youth with practical, real-world financial skills—especially for those who may have had limited access to traditional banking systems or financial guidance. The ideal candidate is engaging, culturally responsive, and committed to empowering young people through education, mentorship, and relationship-building. Key Responsibilities Facilitate daily financial sessions for high school students using a structured, youth-centered curriculum Teach core concepts including budgeting, saving, banking basics, credit, and financial decision-making Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel respected and heard Lead interactive, hands-on activities that connect financial concepts to students’ real-life experiences Build positive relationships with youth and serve as a mentor and role model Monitor student engagement, attendance, and progress Collaborate with Operation Breakthrough staff to support overall program success Maintain a consistent, structured daily schedule Qualifications Background in education, finance, or related field Knowledge of financial literacy Experience working with teens in an educational, mentoring, or youth development setting Strong communication and group facilitation skills Ability to make financial concepts relatable, practical, and engaging Cultural competence and experience working with underserved or under-resourced communities Dependable, organized, and able to maintain a structured program schedule Preferred Qualifications Experience with project-based or experiential learning Experience teaching financial literacy or life skills Experience leading workshops or group-based learning Working Conditions Indoors, classroom setting This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of an employee.
