The Opportunity NexTech Solutions Canada is seeking a Company Security Officer (CSO) to administer our industrial security program under the Government of Canada's Contract Security Program (CSP), managed by Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC). This is a compliance, documentation, and personnel security administration role — not a physical security, protective services, or guard position. The CSO serves as the primary liaison between NexTech Solutions Canada, PSPC's Contract Security Program, and our prime contractors for all matters related to personnel security screening, Designated Organization Screening (DOS) / Facility Security Clearance (FSC) obligations, safeguarding of protected and classified information, and security awareness. The successful candidate will have experience administering clearances, maintaining security records, and interpreting contract security clauses (e.g., Security Requirements Check List / SRCL). Experience as a security guard, protective services officer, or in loss prevention is not applicable to this position. As the Ottawa office is established, the role will expand to include visitor control and physical safeguarding administration consistent with CSP requirements Key Responsibilities (Principal Duties and Accountabilities *Essential Functions) Personnel Security Serve as the primary internal point of contact for all employee security clearance matters. Prepare and submit personnel security documentation to the applicable contracting authority. Track and maintain records of employee security clearance levels, expiry dates, and renewal timelines. Initiate clearance renewals and coordinate with contracting authorities to support timely processing. Conduct security briefings for new hires and debriefings upon departure. Coordinate and track annual mandatory security awareness training. Maintain confidential security records in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy legislation (e.g., PIPEDA). Document and report any security incidents to appropriate leadership. Liaise with contracting authorities and prime contractors regarding security requirements. Future Responsibilities — Upon Establishment of Ottawa Office Implement and manage visitor control procedures in accordance with contract security requirements. Maintain a visitor log and ensure all visitors to the office are appropriately escorted. Support physical security procedures for the office environment as required by Government of Canada contract security programs. Coordinate with building management and leadership on physical access control and other security protocols. Eligible to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada security clearance Canadian citizenship is required Must be eligible to work with controlled goods under the Controlled Goods Regulations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365. Familiarity with Government of Canada security clearance processes is an asset. Understanding of applicable Canadian privacy legislation (e.g. PIPEDA). Strong attention to detail and accuracy in records. Self-directed and able to work effectively in a remote environment. Hybrid position - working hours are generally within standard daytime hours of operation Monday – Friday The pay scale for this position in Ottowa, ON is $145,000 to $155,000 CAD per year based on experience and qualifications.
